About Alyssa Tran

My name is Alyssa Tran. I am currently a student at the University of Delaware School of Nursing and will be completed my bachelor of science in May 2025. I have had experience in healthcare as I am a Resident Care Aide at an Senior Assisted Living Facility and I have experience with the geriatric population. I am Basic Life Support CPR certified by the American Red Cross. In addition, I have experience in retail, management and customer service. I believe this ties into my career as a healthcare professional as I have experience with providing services, delegating tasks, overseeing employees and working with a non judgmental approach. I have had many opportunities to shadow healthcare professionals. In January of 2020, I had the chance to shadow an orthopedic surgery at Premier Orthopedics. I was able to see the nurse's responsibilities during an anesthesia surgery. In February of 2023, I had the chance to shadow an Emergency Department Nurse at Christiana Care and gained knowledge on a nurse's shift. In March of 2023, I had the chance to shadow a registered nurse at Lancaster General Hospital in a med surgical unit.
