About Alyssa Travis

When I was younger, I would always look at problems like they were a rubix cube to be solved. I created small tasks for myself to stay ahead of my peers whether that be in academics or athletics. This formulated the skills that I still hold today and translate into how I handle work. Strengths Finder 2.0 would describe me as futuristic, an activator, an achiever, a communicator and as someone who can easily win others over. I developed my skills of futuristic, an activator and an achiever throughout my academics. I have always put 100% effort into any task assigned of me which has translated into a spot on the deans list at my university and honor role every year since 6th grade. Im different than others in which I try to find the "out of the box" perspective to really gain a foothold on the environment around me. My peers would describe me as hardworking and a fighter because I stay ahead of the game and I am not afraid to speak up for what I believe in. This has made me a great debater and communicator. In any situation, I like to gain an understanding of the people and environment around me so I can tackle it the best I can. My skills of communication and winning others over were formulated throughout my four years of restaurant experience. As a former hostess, busser and server, I have the ability to create meaningful conversations that benefit both me and the customer. I have learned how to sell a product and even how to solve the problem when someone doesn't like the product. I was able to use all of these skills throughout my internship experiences. During the GEICO internship program, I was able to gain experience in project management using the DMAIC process, B2C relationships, and several technicals skills including Microsoft Excel and Canva deisgn.
