About Alyssa Vansickle

From being a literary magazine copyeditor in college, associate editor for a small press afterwards, to being the Copy Head for a software marketing company now, I am well-versed in the editing process. I'm adaptable and efficient, and I'm looking forward to seeing my own proficiency grow in leadership and different styles of copywriting. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with a minor in Honors- Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Arkansas in May 2020. I also participated in volunteer work with the C.D. Wright Women's conference and Bear's Boots on the Ground during my time at UCA, as well as working for Sibling Rivalry Press as an intern, then associate editor. I am passionate about creative content, accessibility, and community engagement. In my role as an Associate Editor for Sibling Rivalry, I edited content in a variety of creative process stages for publication. I’ve also helped with in-person marketing events such as book launches, author readings, conferences, and festivals. I have an eye for detail and information design, and I have a passion for making information accessible for the broad audience. As a Senior Associate Copywriter at Frequence Inc, my skills adapted to marketing and advertising. I wrote and reviewed copy for display ads, SEM ads, emails, landing pages, social, slides, websites, and commercial scripts. With Frequence I was also a Member of our ERG, Creative Culture, focused on bringing coworkers together and enriching the workspace. With them I planned events, assisted in team building activities, and wrote for content we push internally. I also did research and development for Future Tools, a group dedicated to exploring the powers and pitfalls of Artificial Intelligence in the creative world. Now as Jr. Manager of the Copy Team, and Copy Lead, I do all of my previous responsibilities while also leading a small team of wordsmiths. I've extended into team training, cross-team strategy, product development, and team management. My work with A.I. has grown to develop GPT Assistants across all of our products, as a tool to better our quality while maintaining our efficiency. I've also been working with the product team to develop a client-facing SEM tool, to give clients the ability to guide the content of their messaging more directly. I am a thought leader and collaborator for the Wiki Team, geared toward documentation management across teams, lead Whiteglove SEM, and am a co-lead for the Pridehive ERG, which gives space for our LGBTQ+ members and allies.
