About Alyssa Volpini

I am Alyssa Volpini, a dedicated advocate for individuals with disabilities and an experienced leader in community living programs. Currently, I serve as Team Lead at Community Living Grimsby West Lincoln, where I empower those with developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and thrive as active members of their communities. My journey includes management experience, facilitating inclusive service plans, and building strong, supportive teams driven by empathy, collaboration, and adaptability. Across several years, I have supported children and adults in diverse settings, from direct support roles at Community Living Hamilton to one-on-one counselling at Camp Marydale, where I was honored as Counsellor of the Year. My background includes extensive work in educational support for children with disabilities and advocacy for accessibility, adaptive technology, and inclusive practices in schools as an Educational Assistant in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. I am excitedly anticipating the start of my supply teaching journey with the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, where I look forward to bringing my passion for inclusive education and student empowerment to new classroom experiences. My academic path reflects my commitment to inclusive education and disability advocacy. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Disability Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University and am completing a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior) at York University, with graduation expected in February 2026. I also have a diploma in Educational Support from Mohawk College. Certifications in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR reinforce my dedication to safety and care. As a lifelong learner, I believe in teamwork, empathy, and helping others succeed. I take pride in my proficiency with sign language, experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, and commitment to creating environments where everyone feels valued and included. My personal philosophy centers on continuous growth, adaptive problem-solving, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
