Certified Critical Care Nurse‍with 25 years experience, with the last 9 being in nursing leadership. After Covid, I made the switch to Correctional Medicine. I truly thought it was going to be an interim position until I “found something else”. I’ve ended up loving the switch. It’s challenging and a completely new kind of medicine to learn, it keeps me on my toes. No matter what my title is, I ALWAYS believe in doing what is right, even if it’s not the popular choice or “politically correct”. Never be afraid to ask the hard questions ⁉You must be willing to do anything you ask your staff to do. I have no problem rolling up my sleeves and jumping in to help. My commitment is to the patients and staff I lead. Still confused why corporate healthcare does not focus on staff retention instead of recruiting 🤷‍ Do nurses really need another T-shirt or more? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Respect is earned, not deserved.
