Alysson Foti Bourque is an award-winning author and passionate philanthropist who began her professional journey as an elementary school teacher after earning her degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in 2007 and practiced law for nearly eight years before turning her focus to writing children’s literature. She is the creator of the beloved Alycat series, which includes eight traditionally published books. The latest installment, Alycat and the Christmas Cookie Swap, is set to release in August. Alysson’s books have received numerous accolades, including the NYC Big Book Award, Mom’s Choice Award, Parents’ Pick Award, and Next Generation Indie Book Award, among more than two dozen honors.
