Transport & Yard ManagerMy role at Travis Perkins started as a Class 2 Hiab driver, but I was quickly promoted to become the Transport and Yard manager. In this role to ensure the smooth running of both departments I amresponsible for: Forecasting staffing requirements. I manage staffing levels utilising flexible workers, reviewing and submitting overtime sheets. Managing holiday entitlements, allocation and shift patterns based on forecasts to maintain service levels. To monitor and act when required on all driving related DVLA and VOSA standards, ensuring employees and vehicles stay legal and compliant. In addition, that vehicles receive servicing and inspections within the regulated time lines. HR related tasks for my departments including recruitment and setting performance plans. I plan and schedule all deliveries across the fleet ensuring a high level of fleet utilisation. Creating and presenting reports to Regional directors on service levels and KPI’s on a weeklybasis. I Identify and action improvement plans across the business. Customer relations and complaint resolution.
