About Ama Nimako

I am a passionate and driven professional with a strong background in Data Science, International Affairs, and Artificial Intelligence. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish and a Master's degree in International Affairs, both from the University of Ghana. My diverse experiences in data management, international development, and AI for social good have shaped my commitment to ethical and Responsible AI, particularly in the African context. I am currently a Data Management for Fieldwork Intern at Afrobarometer, where I contribute to the amplification of African citizens' voices through reliable data collection and analysis. As a GIZ AI Fellow and a Data Science alumna from Blossom Academy, I have developed skills in SPSS, Python, Power BI, and Excel, using these tools to uncover complex data insights. In my free time, I volunteer as the Sponsorship Support Manager for Divas in AI, a diverse network dedicated to empowering women in AI to address societal challenges. I also contribute to the Rotaract Club of Accra Labone, serving on their Service Projects Committee to effect positive change in communities.
