From Balancing Budgets to Breaking into Finance Finance has always fascinated me—not just in theory but in action. While studying Commerce at Aligarh Muslim University, I realized finance isn’t just about balance sheets; it’s about solving real problems, making strategic decisions, and (hopefully) not crashing Excel. My first hands-on experience came at Kool Kidz, where I started as an Accountant but soon found myself managing a ₹2 Cr budget and leading a team of six. Balancing spreadsheets was one thing, but balancing a business and academics? That was next-level financial modeling. To dive deeper, I took on virtual investment banking internships with HSBC, Bank of America, and the New York Jobs CEO Council. There, I: Analyzed acquisition targets & evaluated credit risk (because “just vibes” isn’t a strategy) Built financial models & conducted SWOT analyses (turning data into decisions) Explored risk management strategies in volatile markets (aka finance on hard mode) These experiences helped me bridge the gap between theory and real-world finance—without waiting for a full-time job to "give me experience." Now, I’m looking to take the next step in finance, contributing my skills in financial analysis, investment banking, and risk management.
