About Aman Parhar

With three years of experience in the mining sector and six years in journalism and publishing, I currently specialize in Communities and Social Performance, focusing on Indigenous relations, community engagement, consultation, implementing agreements, social risk analysis at Rio Tinto BC Works. I participate in and lead engagement and partnerships with Indigenous Nations, governments, and regional partners in British Columbia to foster trust, enhance transparency, and co-develop sustainable solutions. My work involves advising on and integrating social performance, human rights, and cultural heritage considerations into operations and projects while collaborating across operations, HSEC, and procurement teams. Committed to reconciliation and alignment with UNDRIP commitments, I strive to mitigate social risks, enable inclusive decision-making, and build enduring partnerships that create shared value.
