About Amanda Barr

I have been with GE Appliances since February 2016. I started as an entry level 1 assembly line worker. Two years later I worked my way up to a level 2 replacement operator. As a replacement operator I was to learn all 54 jobs in my area and be able to do them effectively and efficiently. Two years into being a replacement operator I took the team lead test and passed then interviewed for a team lead position. I became the team leader two weeks later. Where I use my leadership and communication skills to be the best leader I can be. Now, I am still the team leader of 14 operators, but I am on a temporary upgrade that I had to interview for. I am currently called a KPO (Kaizen Promotional Officer). I get to implement lean, help floor operators to better their jobs, and prevent waste. I also have received multiple recognize you awards for going above and beyond the expectations of my superiors. I have been attending Northwood University since January 2023. I have a 3.9 GPA. Managing school, work and my personal life has showcased my ability to multitask and stay organized. I am on track to graduate with my associates degree by the end of 2025.
