About Amanda Berlinski

I geek out over graphics, juggle words to write engaging content, and lose track of time creating slide decks and gantt charts, but at the heart of who I am and what I do is people. When I was little I spent my weekends playing school. I would wake up in time to start school at 8 a.m. and kept playing into the afternoon. I loved being the teacher. I loved sharing what I knew about rocks, or space, or dinosaurs to help my classroom of teddy bears and sock monkeys better understand those things too. I’d imagine they would grow up to become geologists, or astronauts, or archaeologists because of what they learned in my class. As a grown-up, I still spend my days teaching, but not in a classroom. Instead, I help communicators of all kinds interpret history, nature, and science - especially climate change - where they work through my roles as a planner, exhibit developer, manager, and trainer. I’m working to elevate the profession of heritage interpretation as a coach, rather than a quarterback. And I succeed when I support and inspire the next generation of interpretive professionals. Professionals who are, of course, real people… not plush animals.
