About Amanda Boehm

I am the Managing Editor at the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and JNCI Cancer Spectrum. I work closely with the editors to insure the journal is providing authors a high-quality, ethically sound peer review. I also work with the editors and publisher so the journals are meeting strategic goals. I develop and implement new workflows for the journals and revise policies so the journals are following best practices guidelines. I handle ethics cases, guiding the editors through investigations using the established COPE guidelines. I also liaise with marketing and production. I also have years of experience triaging manuscripts and doing scientific copyediting. I’ve developed protocols for technical checks, Editorial Office workflows, manuscript submission templates, written Instructions to Authors, press releases, lay summaries, and Editor Handbooks. I’m expert in using the Editorial Manager submission system and making configuration changes, as well as providing standard reporting. I’ve developed new editor training resources and virtual training session programs for the journals.
