Background
About Amanda Bridges
Amanda Bridges is the Senior Director of Operations and Business Development at the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO), where she has made a lasting impact since joining in September 2017. With a strong background in business development, Amanda has led successful initiatives to identify revenue-generating opportunities, engage key stakeholders, forge strategic alliances, and establish organizational structures and compliance protocols. Her commitment to the oncology field is deeply personal, fueled by her own experiences as a caregiver and cancer patient advocate. In her leadership role at FLASCO, Amanda is responsible for overseeing the organization’s operations, strategic planning, partnership development, communications, and outreach efforts. She ensures that all initiatives align with FLASCO’s mission and long-term goals, playing a pivotal role in driving organizational growth, fostering meaningful collaborations, and expanding the organization’s impact within the oncology community. Additionally, Amanda serves as the Patient Advocacy Executive, where she develops and manages the FLASCO Living With Series—an educational program designed to provide vital support and information for cancer patients and caregivers. Her passion for supporting veterans is also a key aspect of her advocacy work. As the proud wife of an Army Veteran, Amanda is actively involved with the Army National Guard Family Readiness Group, helping soldiers and their families navigate the challenges of deployment and post-deployment life. Inspired by her military connection, Amanda has become a dedicated advocate for Military Veterans diagnosed with cancer. She works tirelessly to raise awareness, promote education, and advocate for service-connected men and women, forging partnerships with Veterans Affairs Hospitals and cancer care teams to build a strong support network for these patients. Amanda is also an active member of the Association of VA Hematology and Oncology (AVAHO) and has been featured in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), President’s Corner, sharing about her Veteran advocacy work. In addition to her advocacy for veterans, Amanda has a strong focus on Pediatric Oncology and Neuro-Oncology, with plans to expand FLASCO’s efforts in these critical specialties. Amanda also dedicates much of her time to researching the impacts of cancer and connecting with patients to better understand how each malignancy is treated and how it affects patients physically, emotionally, socially, and economically.
