About Amanda Buckner

Amanda joined the Foundry in September 2015, and loves being part of a team that provides hope for so many. She is grateful for the opportunities she has been offered, and the growth in her professional and personal skill set. Her career in the addiction treatment industry began as Continuity Oversight, offering support to the clinical, medical, wellness and family pillars, along with administration and leadership support. As Operations & Compliance Manager, she played a vital role in developing procedures and implementation of Foundry’s Environment of Care Program. She then became involved in program development, case management, admissions and intake. As HR Manager, infused mindfulness and self-care into the daily routine for each staff member. Her dedication and experience at Foundry led her to Community Relations Manager, where she will continue developing relationships with staff, community and providers. She has a passion for helping individuals discover their true potential and believes that the team and programming at Foundry provides every person with an incredible opportunity to heal. Amanda is also an AYP certified Yoga Instructor, with a specialty in Trauma-Integrated Yoga Techniques. She learned that connecting the breath to movement is the only way she can slow the busy thoughts, and that time on the mat every day is non-negotiable for her recovery. She is fascinated with how breathwork in yoga works in conjunction with the body’s somatic nervous system, helping to calm the mind/body and regulate the nervous system from the constant Fight-Flight-or Freeze mode. Through her own practice and research, she has found much benefit from practicing yoga while also engaging in talk therapy, helping the mind and body work together. She loves sharing this practice as she continues to learn to breathe and just be; meeting each student where they are at and guiding each individual into discovering space that can allow spiritual connection.
