About Amanda Clay

I graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2022 with a degree in biology with honors college distinction. During my college years, I pursued my passion for science and science communication through multiple research projects and publications. I received the LSAMP research grant to conduct neurophysiology research in the biology department, and I presented my findings at six undergraduate research events and conferences, winning first place in poster presentations for biological sciences at the annual LSAMP symposium in 2021. I also worked as a journalist and healthcare correspondent at The West Georgian newspaper, where I wrote articles on various topics related to health and wellness, such as COVID-19, mental health, and nutrition. I am excited to bring my love of science and science communication to new opportunities in the research, journalism, and technology. I have strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen interest in learning and innovation. I am motivated by the challenge of finding solutions to complex and impactful issues, and I aspire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
