About Amanda Crider

Executive Director, Roomful of TeethRoomful of Teeth is a genre-defying vocal group that explores and celebrates the potential of the human voice through adventurous music creation, performance, recording and education. My responsibilities include maintaining the financial health of the organization, fostering meaningful relationships with patrons and donors, working closely with the board of directors, managing contracted artists and support staff, liaising with booking managers to support the group's active touring schedule, creating a substantial foundation and government grant portfolio, along with managing day to day operations of the organization. I continually work to build a financially robust organization by aligning our fundraising efforts with the organization’s overall goals and strategies, creating and closely monitoring budgets, and managing funding from a diverse set of income streams. IlluminArts FounderIn 2013, I founded IlluminArts, an art performance series to present innovative, world class performances of vocal chamber music to the community. I produced 9 years of performances, collaborating with museums and galleries in Miami to present curated programs of music inspired by the visual art in the space. In building this organization from the ground up, I gained skills in all aspects of artistic planning, producing, coordinating logistics, contracting artists, grant writing, development, maintaining a balanced budget, donor relations, board management, marketing and overseeing staff. I engaged artists of the highest caliber to perform, and was responsible for the artistic vision that gained funding from organizations such as New Music USA and the Knight Foundation, as well as praise such as, “IlluminArts transforms and transfixes,” and “it is no exaggeration to say that by the end of the performance there was not a dry eye in the house.”Performer:I have sung leading roles with opera companies and ensembles including LA Opera, Boston Lyric, Dallas Opera, New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Glimmerglass, Opera Omaha, Des Moines Metro Opera, Calgary Philharmonic, Nu Deco Ensemble, New World Symphony and Apollo’s Fire, among others. I have been a prize winner in many competitions, including the José Iturbi International, Jensen Foundation, Palm Beach Opera, Oratorio Society of NY, Center for Contemporary Opera, and am a recipient of a Richard F. Gold Career Grant from the Shoshana Foundation. I was also named a 2022 Recipient of the Alumni Enterprise Award from the Innovation Institute at Music Academy.
