About Amanda Duran

Amanda Duran is a Mexican American film composer, singer songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles, California. Amanda studied at The Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles where she received several Merit Scholarships for voice studies with Michael Stevens, Chair of the Voice Department. She also studied classical piano with Rina Dokshitsky, jazz piano with Liz Kinnon, and music theory with Kathy Sawada. Amanda attended a performing arts high school where she performed in various ensembles such as vocal jazz, chamber choir, jazz combo (piano), concert band (clarinet). Outside of school, she played bass in an alternative rock band. Amanda graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Film Scoring. Amanda has composed for short films with genres ranging from drama, comedy, horror, suspense/thriller, and animation. When she isn't composing, she is writing and recording her EP called Safe Haven Avenue under the name Acardia and works part time as an independent contractor, creating lead sheets for Dream Works Animation Television and Puny Entertainment.
