About Amanda Faulkner

I have over 15 years of experience working in education. Currently I work as a Senior Improvement Partner at Partners in School Innovation where I lead a network of school leaders across four districts that are focused on increasing high school readiness outcomes for under-resourced schools. I am skilled in building adult capacity by designing equity-focused professional networks and coaching leaders to deepen their practice in anti-racist mindsets and effective leadership. As an improvement coach, my role includes building relationships with students, teachers and site and district leaders, analyzing and using data to make student-centered decisions, and coaching school teams to develop a continuous improvement strategy that is relevant and engaging for all school community members. With eight years of classroom teaching experience, two years of school administration and seven years coaching teachers and school leaders, I’ve supported schools from nearly every vantage point. Throughout my career and across the various roles I have had as an educator, the parts of my job I love most are those where I am building relationships and working to build systems and supports that make schools more successful. I love engaging with fellow educators and thinking critically about how to empower teachers with tools to make them more effective in their teaching practice. I am also skilled at designing engaging learning opportunities for teams and then supporting them to get metacognitive about what they experienced and how they might adapt, revise and adopt it to be more effective.
