About Amanda Gallo
I am a lawyer with a passion for criminal law and extensive experience in providing legal services to individuals charged with criminal and provincial regulatory offences. I've appeared in various courts: including bail, set-date, provincial offences, judicial case management, youth criminal, and trial courts. During my practice placement with the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, I had the opportunity to work on appellate criminal files, and to participate as a junior member of the defence team for a complex jury trial before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Outside the courtroom, I've coached students of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in trial advocacy. I had the immense honour of coaching the championship Bora Laskin Faculty of Law 2020 Ontario Arnup Cup team. My team then went on to win the 2020 Sopinka Cup National Trial Advocacy Competition in Ottawa. This represents the second year in a row that the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law has won the Arnup Cup (I was on the winning team last year!) and the first time in both the school and the competition's history that the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law has won the Sopinka Cup.
