About Amanda Godwin

My mission: seeking to define the undefinable through shadow, symmetry, and storytelling. I am a freelance filmmaker and aspiring business owner who, in addition to studying full-time at Penn State University Berks, passionately pursues filmmaking whenever I can, making my own way at a college with no film major. I work as a Media Commons employee helping students with their assigned film projects and creating short films for various purposes around the campus. Through Penn State Berks, I enrolled in the Schreyer Honors College, and drafted a feature-length screenplay as my thesis for the program. I've also worked on professional promotional and creative films for my online portfolio that I've taken the initiative to morph from various writing assignments in my major. I've also taken the more conventional route of enrolling in classes such as Digital Cultures, International Literature and Film, Arts Seminar, Writing for the Web, Graphic Design, Accounting, and Marketing. All these classes have enhanced my knowledge of filmmaking from pre-production to post-production and have taught me about owning and running my own business.
