About Amanda Gray

I believe that ALL Missourians deserve our best. The single mothers who are just trying to make ends meet, people dealing with disabilities, children who live in unstable situations…every single one deserves the best services that we can provide. I quit teaching in 2011 in Illinois so that I could move home and help our citizens, because they mean that much to me. I believe in quality services, I believe in data-driven research guiding our decisions, and I believe in being a team player with all of the other wonderful people at the State of Missouri. I also believe that technology is a key player in all we do. By harnessing AI, and using pure imagination to explore the art of the possible, we will transform experiences and opportunities for our citizens. In addition to my career in Social Services, I am also the Director of the Red Slipper Warrior Bands, a group of professional musicians that provides tailored musical experiences for Central Missouri events, fundraisers, and more. How is this group different from any other band? We bring awareness to the Red Slipper Warrior Project, who works with women and little girls of all ages to help them prepare for the battle of their lives against cancer, with every performance. I am also heavily involved with the Rape and Abuse Crisis Services. Serving on the Board of Directors, I oversee the operations, financials, recruitment, services, and more for the shelter, services, and events. This is incredibly rewarding work to help survivors of rape, abuse, and stalking regain their independence and start a new life where they are free from harm.
