About Amanda Gray

I received a Master’s Degree from California State University, Northridge in Linguistics-TESOL. I also have earned a BA in the same subject of linguistics-TESOL. This academic career has brought me the true knowledge of how language really works and what specific needs and challenges that I must combat when facing adult language learners. I have done extensive research in second language acquisition as well as research on the TOEFL and IELTS exams. This has provided me with the knowledge of what the world expects from our learners as well as helped me to develop ways to help them succeed. During my academic career I had simultaneously developed my professional skills in the field by working at the university level here in California as well as abroad in South Korea. All-of my professional career has been in teaching adult learners. Presently, I work as an Adjunct ESL Credit Instructor at Glendale Community College and it has been a wonderful 10 years there. As an ESL instructor I have developed curricula, assessments, as well as developed placement tests to insure each class and each student received what they needed. I have been able to demonstrate myself as professional, responsible, culturally aware, sensitive, and excitedly passionate about teaching.
