About Amanda Hand

Nat Turner once said, “Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity.” This has been my mission throughout my career: to utilize my skills in editing, writing, and teaching to help others communicate their ideas in order to bridge the gap between confusion and clarity. As an editor, I work with faculty and staff to translate complex scientific concepts to lay audiences, bringing scientific advancements to the public. I have also utilized my editorial skills in the peer-to-peer marketplace to facilitate publishing for education, animal rights, and personal and professional development. As an educator, I have enabled academic success in adult, remedial, and international learners, teaching them to effectively connect their concepts to diverse audiences. I will continue to advance my editorial and educational skill sets by further developing my intercultural competencies and collaborating with thinkers, researchers, and creators in their publishing endeavors. In my free time, I have found a new love of weight lifting, and I enjoy snuggling with my fur babies, while watching the latest Netflix show.
