About Amanda Horricks

Compassion is my superpower and the heartbeat of everything I do. In my role, I have the immense privilege of helping transform the lives of children and families through the power of a wish. One of the best and hardest things about my role at Make-A-Wish Canada is the perspective you face daily - the kind that humbles you, grounds you, and reminds you what truly matters. You witness unimaginable strength in the face of adversity, and while it's not always easy, it's an honour to play even a small part in bringing light to families navigating critical illness. With a background in communications and marketing, I’m passionate about telling stories that matter, planning events that bring people together, and building relationships rooted in trust and purpose. I believe in the magic of small details, meaningful conversations, and showing up with heart - always. Outside of work, I find joy in the simple things: getting lost in a good book, dreaming of ocean air, and yes, playing Christmas music no matter the season (joy knows no calendar).
