About Amanda Hussein

PhD Student in American Studies with a background in Hispanic Studies and Foreign Languages. Currently, I am studying for my Doctorate in American Studies at Washington State University. I hold a Master of Arts from the same institution in Hispanic Studies. I am also currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Spanish. I was the 2017-2018 recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student in Humanities for the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the 2017-2018 Outstanding Graduate Student for the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures. I was the Graduate Representative from 2016-2018 for the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures. I am currently the Graduate Representative for the School of Languages, Cultures and Race as well as the 2018-2020 Graduate Representative for the Association of Gender and Sexuality Studies, an International academic organization specializing in Feminist Spanish Literature and Culture. I am a certified teacher for the State of Idaho in 6-12 Spanish and 6-12 French. This will be my 9th year teaching in general and 4th for Washington State University. I lived and studied in Europe, in particular Spain (Universidad del País Vasco) and France (Université de Pau et de Pays de l'Adour), in 2009. I have traveled extensively to Europe and a little in Africa.
