About Amanda J Sutters

Enjoying a broad variety of hobbies, from Search & Rescue, Primitive Survival skills, applying Permaculture to the land or being a rock hound; I love to learn and carry those skills into my jobs. Helping people and teaching the youth in my spare time, has led to journaling about many rewarding experiences. Learning to do freelancing, I've applied a new way of approaching topics. I authored and published my first book in 2017. I enjoy reading others stories about their adventures, places they live, or any odd happenings. Teaching about the great outdoors and all that East Texas has to offer has led to a love of Deep East Texas history and exploring the woods. I love to find things in the woods, either old bottles or buildings. Having a vivid imagination, I try to picture the people and things that would have taken place there. Enjoying arrowhead hunting along the Trinity river in the summer, fishing, or just soaking up the sun is a favorite past time. Being a naturalist at heart and loving to teach children to identify species of plants, animals, birds, and reptiles in their native environment feeds the fires of passion and love for our unique place in East Texas. I enjoy organizing and working for non-profits that benefit people and the environment and allows me to use the skills I've acquired over the years.
