About Amanda Kay

During my time attending the University of Missouri - Columbia, I worked in preschools with an AmeriCorps program called Jumpstart. I was also able to expand my knowledge of child development and apply it at the Child Development Lab on campus. I was able to foster my love for service by volunteering at a Toy Library interacting with parents, delivering Buddy Packs to children in need, and by providing safe rides home to fellow Tigers. After college, I worked for the Missouri Department of Social Services - Children's Division for approximately 15 months. I case managed and acted as guardian for approximately 20 foster children at a time. In May, 2018 I relocated to the Kansas City area and assisted individuals with developmental disabilities at Easterseals Midwest through the employment process. I ultimately missed working with children and returned to working in child care centers. I am currently working as a Toddler Teacher where I work with children ages 12-26 months and assist them in all areas of development. I enjoy creating and implementing lessons that allow both myself and the toddlers to grow and explore interests. I am certified in First Aid/CPR.
