About Amanda Kint

After working as a paraeducator for a year in a Title 1 school, I fell in love with teaching. I then spent a year in the classroom in the co-teaching model as an intern at Legacy High School in Marysville, teaching 9th and 12th grade English. Meanwhile, I balanced an accelerated graduate program allowing me to earn a master's in 5 quarters. During the 23-24 school year I worked as a substitute in Lake Stevens, Everett, and Snohomish. I developed strong relationships with students and staff at 8 schools and became the preferred sub of over 20 teachers. For 9 weeks I also worked as a long-term substitute, teaching 9th grade English at Jackson High School. For the 24-25 school year I returned to Marysville for a full time position teaching World History, Multicultural Studies, and 10th grade English. My coursework and classroom experience emphasizes modern pedagogies such as culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy, critical pedagogy, multicultural education, trauma informed pedagogy, as well as teaching in inclusion classrooms. With 4 years of in-classroom experience, I am open to new employment opportunities in high school social studies and English classrooms. I also have ambitions of completing an MLL/ELL endorsement program.
