Work as the outpatient bariatric program dietitian at The Center for Surgical Weight Loss at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Counsel weight loss surgery patients and medical weight loss patients (surgeries include vertical sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, adjustable gastric band and the intragastric balloon procedure). Provide nutrition counseling to patients pre-operatively and post-operatively to both prepare them for weight loss surgery and help them recover from surgery and maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. Facilitate monthly weight loss support groups and help ensure patients are compliant with an appropriate vitamin and mineral supplementation regimen. Publish patient newsletter. Assist with management of patient store providing information about specific nutritional supplements and products. Operate biometric equipment and interpret results for patients as part of continued monitoring of weight loss progress and nutritional status.
