About Amanda Leightner

Throughout the 12 years spent in higher education, I have cultivated my ability to teach, collaborate, as well as recruit and manage top performing talent while optimally deploying available resources to render excellent educational services. I am knowledgeable about accreditation, academic and student programs, as well as strategic planning and implementation, among others. On the other hand, I can leverage effective communication and interpersonal skills to recruit and advise students about the respective qualifications within the Respiratory and Polysomnography field. This is partly based upon my 20 years of experience in the previously mentioned field. As a nurturing leader, I support staff by offering training to improve their understanding of procedures and technical systems. Selected achievements: • Dedicated to continuous innovation, creating new programs and courses, establishing expanded placement opportunities for clinical experience component, and forming productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. • Highly trained and credentialed, with every Polysomnography Credential available, holding a Board position on The National Board for Respiratory Therapy credentialing body (NBRC), and serving as a programmatic site visitor with the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care accreditation body (CoARC). • Extensive record of professional leadership with multiple regional and national organizations and involved volunteer for numerous youth and health-related organizations.
