About Amanda Mares

As a dedicated and passionate educator, I have over ten years of experience in teaching, coaching, and leading in various capacities at Denver Public Schools (DPS). My mission is to serve my community and foster the academic and personal growth of my students, colleagues, and stakeholders. I have developed and demonstrated core competencies in grant writing and management, literacy and mathematics instruction, data-driven inquiry, professional development, and collaboration. For example, I wrote and oversaw five small level grants for instructional materials and essential supplies, and managed compliance with a Early Literacy Grant. I also led 89% of my second grade students to reading proficiency and growth, and coached 100% of my teachers to effective ratings within the DPS framework. Additionally, I have been a member and leader of various teams and committees that oversee and make budgetary, instructional, and hiring decisions for the school. I hold a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver, and a Colorado Professional Teacher License. I am eager to apply my skills and talents to new challenges and opportunities in the education field.
