About Amanda Masters
I started at OSF Saint Francis in 2012. I quickly became a leader and started training new nurses within my first 6 months. After 9 months I took my leadership further and became a Charge nurse. I continue to lead by participating in an interdisciplinary council where we met monthly to integrate new ideas and practices for our patients. I transitioned from the physical rehab unit to neonatal intermediate in July of 2015. I currently care for premature infants and prepare them and their families for their future at home. I became the ROP Clinical Coordinator in 2017; assisting ophthalmologists in examining infants for retinopathy of prematurity as well as taking pictures of the retina for further examination. I am currently participating in an AI ROP research project where I provide retinal images in hopes to get AI to predict severity of ROP in our smallest population.
