Completing a BA as a ‘mature’ student, and now working on my BEd have been the biggest undertakings as well as one of the biggest accomplishments of my life. Since I started the Disability Studies program, I have asked myself many many times, ‘what the heck are you doing?’ But even with the long days of working full time and taking classes in the evenings, the stress of exams and essays, the time and effort to maintain all my mom ‘duties’ as well as professional and student responsibilities, I have never given up. When I put my mind to something, I do not give up! The pride and confidence I have gained from these experiences have transferred into all aspects of my life and I now realize that I can be and do more.
