About Amanda Micallef

I am social scientist and social planner with extensive experience in social research, strategy and policy development, needs assessments, and social impact assessment. Drawing from my experience working in both the private sector and local government, I identify community needs and aspirations and support social and wellbeing outcomes for diverse cohorts, including people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage, children and young people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people with disability. As an experienced social researcher and community development practitioner, I understand the importance of developing a robust evidence base to support decision making and program implementation. I have conducted and managed a range of social planning activities including baseline studies, risk assessments, social research, program recommendation, policy evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. I work collaboratively with clients across a range of sectors, including education, health, social infrastructure, urban and regional development, renewable emergies, mining and extractives, government, and private industry in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. I am passionate about building community capacity and creating social value to facilitate meaningful social experiences and outcomes.
