About Amanda Monteith

I am a dance and interdisciplinary artist utilizing film and other forms of visual art to process my own condition and provide entertainment and contemplation to audiences. My work is contemplative, understated, thematically complex and offers insight into my own version of the human experience. I make art as a thoroughfare to resolving inner conflicts as well as a way to honor personally impactful art. Within both my dance and film work, I draw from Film Noir and Cinema Novo to inspire more in-depth intellectual inquiries whilst finding moments for the audience to empathize with what they see. Additionally, I use my love of literature and syntax in a visual application by working with metonymy and metaphor alongside my actual writing. I also work as a more than capable administrator, having created client databases and compiled pointed research for previous jobs.
