About Amanda Oldham

Curiously enough, I only started pursuing a career in accounting in the last couple of years. Back in high school, I had a really hard time picking a career path. I showed talent in diverse subjects, and when analyzing my career alternatives there were simply too many options to choose from. In college, I pursued a 4-year Licentiate in Language and Literature, which provided me with a deeper understanding of the inner workings of languages and sharpened my communication skills. During and after school, I had the opportunity to work in diverse types of professions, from executive assistant and teacher to real estate photographer. Every single experience gave me different insights into what the business world is and how various types of businesses operate. When working as an office manager for a general contractor, I started having closer contact with bookkeeping and accounting functions, and that sparked my interest in that field. After a necessary career break, I landed my first official role in accounting as an Accounting Clerk with BCCK - and the rest is history. I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Professional Accountancy and intend to sit for the CPA license within the upcoming years.
