About Amanda Overgaard Robinson

Amanda Robinson is a social scientist working in higher education with experience in research design, curriculum development, community outreach, and program administration. She has experience as a professor with a heavy focus on student-centered learning in higher education and student advising. Her research focus is based in maternal child welfare topics such as: breastfeeding, birth, child nutrition, medicine, biomedical systems, alternative medicine, and holistic medicine use. Amanda is a committed educator that does continual outreach in the Omaha, Nebraska, community. She holds the Peter K. New Award presented by the Society for Applied Anthropology for her work on "Breast or Bottle: Perceptions of Breastfeeding and their Influence on Breastfeeding Rates in the United States". She continues to conduct research on maternal child welfare in the United States.
