About Amanda Parente

I graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelors in Illustration. I work in many mediums including acrylic, watercolor, digital and sculpture. I currently work at The Pottery Factory as a manager and creative specialist. Here, I am in charge of creating canvas designs for both adults and children. This process includes preliminary sketches, color concepts and execution on canvas. Once completed I create detailed instructions on how to teach the painting for our cork and canvas events or children's' birthday parties. I also instruct events for ceramic painting, glass painting, glass fusing and candle making. Other responsibilities include greeting and helping customers, cleaning the store and art supplies and restocking shelves. I also manage the studio which includes making the schedule for staff, ensuring the studio is ready for the weekend, ordering supplies and handling any customer problems and concerns. Overall I am a very hard working and organized individual. I work diligently with the task at hand in an efficient and timely manner. I strive for success, but acknowledge my failures and constantly strive to improve my skills and talents. I have a strong passion for illustrating animals in both a realistic or characteristic way.
