About Amanda Parker

As a MSW graduate student I have a strong interest in working with populations with substance abuse, trauma, and those in acute crisis. I am also interested in parenting counseling and education, group therapy, maternal and infant social work, and relationship education programs. I completed my BA in Exercise Science, online, at Concordia University - St. Paul where I discovered that my professional and academic interests lie at the intersection of mind and body. As an online student, I am highly self-motivated and adaptable and have experience performing under pressure. At Concordia, I focused my coursework around the psychological aspects of exercise and spent 2019 and 2020 completing an internship as a trauma-sensitive yoga instructor. While I am no longer a licensed, practicing massage therapist I have 5 years of experience developing therapeutic interventions for individuals with eating disorders, trauma histories, and other mental illnesses.
