About Amanda Paskey

I’m a very driven individual with a huge passion for numbers and fighting fraud. Late in my high school career I took my first accounting class, expecting to completely hate it. I knew I was good at algebra and solving problems, but there was something about accounting that just didn’t appeal to me. Much to my surprise, my mind had changed quickly. We had a speaker come in, from a local accounting firm, to talk to us about the accounting profession. From there, my love for accounting evolved and led me to pursue a degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. While attending UWGB I had an accounting professor, who ultimately became a huge mentor to me, that my love for the accounting grew into more than just numbers, but a passion for helping clients. After graduation I was hired by University of Wisconsin Madison in the Office of Continuing Professional Development for the School of Medicine and Public Health. It was there that I grew the most, but also realized, that I wanted to refine my skills and explore additional areas of the business/accounting profession. I decided to go back to school and get my Master of Science in Accountancy. The appealing part to this degree was that you could obtain the necessary knowledge base to become a fraud examiner, which resulted in my decision to obtain my Certified Fraud Examiner credential.
