About Amanda Perkins

Currently, I have moved away from teaching and into another role, administration. As an Administrative Operations Manager, I am able to flex my organizational muscles. My day to day tasks require me to handle many things all at once, with accuracy and precision. I interface with various stakeholders and work to present my school in the best light possible. In addition, I am an interdisciplinary artist and former art teacher. I taught elementary school art for 20+ years. I work in oils, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastel (oil and chalk), clay, plaster, and other materials. I enjoy variety, and working with many kinds of materials keeps me excited about my art, and allows me to be a more versatile artist. I work to provide a material-rich environment for students to create. From 2013 to 2021, my son and I went to summer camp. He gets to be a camper, while I worked as the Arts and Crafts Director. I oversee the entire Arts and Crafts sector of camp including photography, printmaking, ceramics, and more. I teach campers aged 7-17 lessons in batik, printmaking, painting, sculpting, mosaic, glass fusing, and traditional camp crafts.
