About Amanda Prewett

I am a recent graduate at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, where I majored in Business Administration. During my time at ASU, I achieved the honor of Dean’s Scholar for the last five consecutive semesters and graduated with the honors of Summa Cum Laude. I am interested in entering the field of Business where I can utilize my creativity, critical thinking, and leadership/managerial skills. I am currently looking for and entry level position with a company where I can apply my current skills while also learning from professionals in the field.For over six years, I worked as a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks Corporation. In my leadership role I learned and developed managerial skills including, critical thinking, problem solving, delegation, crisis management, and Interpersonal skills. This time in my Supervisor position at Starbucks exerted significant influence on my decision to study and pursue a career in business. I am currently working as a waitress at the restaurant Duke's La Jolla, where I am further developing my communication skills while also learning about management in the restaurant industry.Aside from academics, I have always had a passion for art and creativity. During my sophomore and junior years of high school, I assisted in painting a school mural and was later recognized on the front page of my city newspaper. Around the same time, I utilized my creativity and entrepreneurial skills by hand making jewelry, clothing, and other accessories and selling them online or to peers at school. These experiences helped to lay the foundation for my interest in the business field.During my free time, I enjoy the outdoors and physical activities such as hiking with my dog, swimming, running, and sunset watching at the San Diego beaches, where I currently reside.
