About Amanda Riccetti

Amanda Riccetti is currently the director and owner of Big City Montessori School in San Francisco, California. She has been with BCMS since 1980. Before assuming her current position, Amanda spent many years as a teacher, working hands-on with countless generations of children in her preschool program. Now, as the director, she still goes into her classes and works with the children from time to time. During Amanda's years with the school, many parents have sought her guidance and support while raising their children. This inspired her to write a series of quality children's books to provide a charter for parents and a model for their children reading the books. The series, “Learning with Max,” is a five-part collection of beautifully illustrated books that provide lifelong, valuable lessons for children entering preschool. Each book in the series follows Max as he explores various preschool scenarios – the first day of preschool, potty training, making friends, learning social skills, helping others – and models the correct behaviors for the young readers. “Learning with Max” isn’t just for children! Each book contains valuable parent tips to guide parents along the journey and create consistent parenting among the school community.
