About Amanda Secord

Amanda is a child and youth care worker, and a registered dual social service worker and social worker who is currently working as a mental health worker at a local high-school. Amanda has recently graduated at Laurentian University and has obtained a degree in Indigenous Social Work. What inspires Amanda the most is working with individuals to highlight their strengths, and to help build on their needs. What Amanda likes doing during her free time is enjoying the great outdoors. She has passion in everything from fishing and hunting, to hiking and exploring with her two dogs. Amanda is empowered by setting realistic goals for herself, and always looking at becoming a better person every day. Amanda accomplishes this by participating in professional and educational growth, while making time for herself with some self-care. Enthusiasm, empathy and positivity are a few of Amanda’s qualities. She loves to take part in reducing the stigma that is attached to mental health, and to highlight the importance of reaching out. “You cannot pour from an empty cup, so make sure to take care of yourself first”
