About Amanda Selby

The majority of my career has been spent with Nutrien. I started surveying for a construction company in 2002 and moved to the mine in 2006. As a survey tech we were responsible for guiding all mining machines to their areas to be mined, monitored ventilation throughout the mine and monitored ground conditions. Microstation was our primary program for updating all mine plans associated with the survey data collected. I surveyed until 2012 when I made the move into the Mill Mechanical Engineering Department. Primarily using AutoCAD, structural and electrical drawings were our primary focus. In 2014 I moved to the Mine Mechanical Engineering Department. AutoCAD is used for electrical updates, Autodesk Inventor 3D is used for all mechanical, structural and hydraulic drawings. Microstation is still used for the overall mine map and the electric utilities we have underground. Some of our older drawings are still maintained in Microstation as well. Data Control systems are part of my daily duties and I have adapted to many different systems over the 10 years in this department. I’m a creative person in my spare time. I have taken up photography as a side gig and I am incredibly passionate about capturing memories for people. I enjoy graphic design for social media marketing, making me proficient in Canva, Lightroom and Photoshop.
