Salisbury University graduate with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology, I bring over 15 years of experience in hospitality management, marketing, event planning, advertising, and community outreach—now channeling those skills into the nonprofit sector as Development Director at Diakonia, Inc.My career began in recreation and hospitality, where I served in leadership roles at the MWR Navy Recreation Center, Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa, and The Atlantic Hotel. I later spent more than a decade at the Ocean City Marlin Club, managing operations, coordinating large-scale events, and overseeing social media and member engagement.Those experiences laid the groundwork for my transition into media and advertising sales, including roles as Account Manager with the OC Today Newspaper group and as an Account Executive with Comcast Advertising (formerly Effectv). Along the way, I’ve also taken on freelance social media and marketing projects for local businesses and worked in retail environments—demonstrating adaptability, creativity, and a deep commitment to community connection.In my current role at Diakonia, I lead fundraising, marketing, and external communications efforts, including capital campaign initiatives, donor engagement, grants support, social media strategy, storytelling, and brand development. I work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, and community partners to strengthen Diakonia’s visibility, grow philanthropic support, and advance mission-driven impact for individuals, families, and Veterans across Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore.At every stage of my career, I’ve been driven by service, relationship-building, and turning ideas into action—now with the privilege of doing that work in support of hope, dignity, and long-term community change.
