About Amanda Simpson

As the Chair of Construction and Technology Solutions in the School of Continuing Education (SCE) at RRC Polytech, I lead the strategic direction, development, and management of 10+ programs, including courses and micro-credentials that help students upskill and reskill. My role is unique due to SCE's cost-recovery model, which injects revenue back into the college, ensuring financial sustainability and growth. I oversee program development, financial management, recruitment, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on continuous improvement and industry alignment. Key Achievements: • Redeveloped the Driver Instructor Training Program, enhancing processes, content, and compensation models, leading to increased capacity and industry partnerships. • Grew the Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management Program by enhancing program content, hosting annual networking events, and adding intakes. • Developed and implemented the popular AutoCAD micro-credential series, providing valuable upskilling opportunities for students. • Lead over 50 instructors in full-time, part-time positions under collective agreements, employment agreements, and fee-for-service contracts. • Implemented a cost-recovery model that significantly contributes to the college's revenue.
