As a taxation and payroll assistant for chartered accountants Beatons Group, I work in areas of the business including preparing income and expenditure accounts for tax returns and payroll. Instead of continuing at sixth form, I moved to Ipswich in 1990 and was offered a job at Beatons at the age of 16. I initially started as a tax assistant and the company put me through my AAT qualifications.I had some time away from Beatons after the birth of my second child but returned in November 2008 and have been here ever since. I enjoy the variation in my areas of specialism which include the of preparing tax returns and running payroll.Outside of work I like to try and keep fit by running and spend time with my two children. Another passion of mine is DIY. I completely renovated my previous house and have recently moved into a property which needs a lot of work. I want to try and do a lot of the work myself rather than bringing someone in to do it for me. You cannot beat that sense of satisfaction when a project has been completed.
