About Amanda Solter

Amanda is the Program Director for Rights and Governance at CS Fund. Her grantmaking focuses on government transparency and accountability, the courts, protecting the right to protest, rule of law issues including surveillance and national security accountability, and ensuring international trade mechanisms champion workers and the environment. Prior to entering philanthropy, Amanda’s work was focused on international human rights law and mechanisms for accountability, and criminal justice reform through a human rights lens. Her previous role was director of the Human Rights in Criminal Sentencing Project at the University of San Francisco School of Law, a project which sought to situate the United States in a global context in regards to our harsh sentencing practices and the ways they fail to conform to international laws and norms. Amanda then took five years off to raise her two daughters full time before starting her role at CS Fund. She is also an elected member of her local school board. Amanda holds a law degree with a public interest law certificate from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and a BA in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico.
